When we got married, we decided that each one of us would keep our own cattery name, but we would operate together under Quality Bengal Kittens.  Since kittens are registered based on the owner of the mother cat, each one of our litters will be registered based on whether the mother is Jon's cat or Robyn's cat.

These are the girls of SolanaRanch.

Champion SolanaRanch Let Freedom Ring - Freya
From Solana Ranch Last Patriot x Winsomebg Head On of Sunshine
A fourth-generation SBT Bengal down from Leopard cat Taro of Bundas, Freya takes her mother's strengths up a notch. Freya's sire put the forward tilt back onto the ears, dropped the nose deep between the whisker pads, and sculpted the face adding incredible definition.  Inside of Freya resides the spirit of her grandmother Awagati Independence, and she blesses our lives with her embodiment of mischievous play.

Freya's Genetic Lineup: C/cb, TaM/TaM, PK-Def N/N, PRA N/N which means Freya carries sepia; she is homozygous spotted, and she does not carry for either PK Deficiency or PRAb.  Freya last tested HCM negative in 2019.  Her mother last tested HCM negative at 8 years old, and her father recently tested HCM negative at 12 years old.  Woot Woot - two negative parents 8 and over; there isn't anything more a breeder can do to prevent heart disease than this.

Regional Winner Quadruple Grand Champion Solana Ranch Unalienable Right
From Solana Ranch Last Patriot x Beaux Mondes Home of the Brave
A fourth-generation SBT Bengal down from Leopard cat Taro of Bundas, Una was a keeper from the moment she was born.  One fast trait to lose on the Bengal is the ocular bone that holds the eyes in a forward, nocturnal setting, so when Una came out with saucer-like bone structure behind her eye slits, she was an instant keeper.  Perhaps the best way to describe Una came from a TICA judge who said, "She has a special expression that is not any other breed."

Una's Genetic Lineup: C/cb, Tam/TaB, PK Deficiency N/N, PRAb N/N which means Unas carries for sepia and marble and she does not carry for PK Deficiency or PRAb.  Una last test HCM negative in 2017.  Her mother last test HCM negative at 8 years old and her father at five years old.

SolanaRanch Luau - Little Lu
from Solanaranch Lucalike and Xanadu Dream Weaver
Little Lu, a fourth generation Bengal down from Leopard cat Taro of Bundas, exudes joy and fun.  Live life like Little Lu and all will be well.  In addition to her beautiful head, Little Lu has beautifully shaped ears.  Many seek small ears, but round, uniformly wide ears are harder to get.  The rounded inner edge is the most challenging part of the ear to achieve, and Little Lu not only has it but also passes it on to her offspring. Her deep body, rounded rump, and low tail carriage are also wonderful traits.

Little Lu's Genetic Lineup: N/M4, PK Deficiency N/N, PRAb N/K which means Little Lu carries for longhair but is homozygous brown and homozygous spotted.  She does not carry for PK Deficiency.  While she carries one copy of PRAb, she is not affected.  Little Lu most recently tested HCM negative in 2018.

SolanaRanch Innocent Rebellion - Bella
from BeauxMondes Innocent Bystander and Wildernesswell Jacobite Rebllion
Bella, a fourth-generation Bengal from Elias of Callista, is a special cat. We are so excited to have an Ibby daughter thorugh a differnte lineage to keep the line going.   Her large, expressive eyes and wide based ears keep the wild look we are going for, yet she has the preferred profile so many others want.  It is hard to keep the eyes and the profile on the same cat - we always default to eyes before profile - but when we can get them to come together, it's a keeper.

Bella's Genetic Lineup:  Coat genetic need testing.  PKDef N/N, PRAb N/N which means does not carry for either PK Deficiency or PRAb.  Bella last test HCM negative in 2018. Bella's mother last screened HCM negative at 8 years old and her sire at nearly 4 years old.

SolanaRanch Serenity
from SolanaRanch Maisie Dobbs and RW QGC WinsomeBG HeadOn of Sunshine
Every once in a while as a breeder, "that cat" is born.  Serenity was that cat. . . until she gave me Patience.  But she still carries the "that cat" distinction and will be very hard to ever let go. Like her sister Snowflake, Serenity is a fifth-generation Bengal from Elias of Callista.  Their mom Maisie Dobbs was my first ever homegrown white-bellied cat.  Serenity took the width of the expression to the next level.  Serenity is sweet; she has a wild head with large eyes and a beautiful nose set low between the whisker pads.  Her tiny little dots are arranged in fantastic horizontal flow.  There isn't much to fault on Serenity other than contrast.  She is a special lady.

Serenity's Genetic Lineup: C/cb, Pk Deficiency N/K, PRAb N/N which means Serenity carries for sepia.  She has one copy of the PK Deficiency gene but is not affected herself, and she does not carry for PRAb. Serenity last tested negative for HCM in 2018. Her mom tested negative at age 7 and her Dad at age 12 - beautiful and heart healthy.
